Vicenza Methodist Church
Welcome to our website!
Our church is the oldest protestant community in the city of Vicenza, founded in 1869 thanks to the commitment of Rev. Henry James Piggot, missionary of the Wesleyan Missionary Society. For a long time protestant churches in Italy had many difficulties in interacting with the environment: nowadays, the new ecumenical situation and a different understanding of how churches should relate to each other make it easier to be “different” Christians in this country.
Our church is an international fellowship, made up of people of different countries, who try to live their common faith together, though the differences of their backgrounds. On a national level we are part of the union of Presbyterian and Methodist churches, whose name is Chiesa Evangelica Valdese – Unione delle chiese metodiste e valdesi. We try to bear witness to the Lord Jesus Christ, aware that we are part of a wider family, with a rich tradition of spirituality rooted in the Word of God.
